Tyra Hill was born and raised in Macon, Georgia and she loves being from there. Being a Southern girl shaped how she sees people, how she tells stories, and how deeply she cares about community. Macon is home and it always will be, no matter where the work takes her.
She started her college journey at LSU before transferring to the University of Georgia, where she graduated with dual degrees in Political Science and International Affairs in just two years, three years total from start to finish. From there she went straight to Mercer University and completed her MBA in one year. She did all of this before turning 22.
At her core Tyra is a creator and a thinker. She gets genuinely excited about ideas, research, storytelling, and the kind of conversations that go too long and leave everyone a little changed. She researches intersectionality and triple consciousness. She makes documentaries. She writes poetry. She builds financial tools. She is working toward a career in entertainment law. She does a lot. She means all of it.
Also, she is basically Maxine Shaw from Living Single — brilliant, opinionated, and always the most interesting person in the room. She just won't say it out loud. (She just said it out loud.)
